pcgaming.io answers the questions PC players ask before they buy a game or a part: will it run, how well, and what should I upgrade? It covers games, graphics cards, processors, handhelds, components and gear, with tools to check a PC and plan a build.

The site is built and run by AppsDoc LLC, a small independent company registered in Wyoming, USA, founded by Hamza Aid, who designs the performance model and maintains the catalog. We are not owned by, or paid by, any hardware maker, publisher or store.

How FPS estimates work

Every graphics card and processor gets a relative performance index (RPI): GeForce RTX 3060 12GB = 50 for graphics, Ryzen 5 5600 = 50 for processors. We read each game's published minimum and recommended specs from Steam and match them to our catalog.

We assume a game's recommended graphics card reaches about 60 fps at 1080p on high settings, and the minimum card about 30 fps at 1080p low. Your hardware is scaled from there, with fixed factors for resolution and preset, and the processor sets a ceiling. These are estimates, and every figure is labeled as one, with a confidence level. Measured results from our Windows app will replace them over time. The full methodology explains confidence ranges, limits and every change to the model.

Where the data comes from

Game data and artwork: Steam. Engines and series: Wikidata. Hardware and gear specs: manufacturer pages, linked on each product. GPU market share: the Steam Hardware Survey. Product images belong to their manufacturers, and photos under free licenses are listed on the image credits page.
